Certainly a depressing event but wow, what a photo! It was taken on the A2 today near Born, a town of approximately 6,000 people in the Dutch municipality of Sittard-Geleen.
We’ll bet the owner wished that he changed his fuel lines for fresh rubber and if that was a carb equipped DS ensured that there was a securing wire around the fuel line going into it.

Something similar had happened to a CCC members late Red SM 5 speed, can’t remember a whole lot, either it was sold and soon after got caught in a fire similar to this DS or after some time had passed…..
