Celebrating June 4, 1919 – The Kick-off Date to the Citroën Marque

100 years ago today, on June 4, 1919, André Citroën presented his first vehicle, the Citroën Type A 10 HP, to the press. It would go on to become the first mass-produced European vehicle targeted for the mass market and a success! With a displacement of 1,327 cc and 18 HP at 2100 rpm, it consumed only 7.5 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers.

The the Citroën Type A 10 HP set the stage for the company to establish an ongoing reputation for innovative design and engineering, making it a respected and distinctive world leader in the automotive industry.
