Citroën Announces April 30th Deadline for 100th Anniversary Celebration

As part of their vigilance, prevention and protection against terrorism, Citroën announced yesterday that they will close registration for the ‘Célébration du Centenaire Citroën’ to be held at la Ferté-Vidame in France from July 19 – 21, 2019.

Registration will close on April 30 at midnight. This was done at the request of the Prefecture of Eure & Loir to allow the authorities to calibrate and plan, checking their needs in human resources to enforce public order and security for attendees.

If you do plan to go, make sure you register before May 1 at: http://en.citroencc.com/.

Update as of Jan. 30, 2019 – from George Dyke: I’m letting you know about a snag I have encountered trying to register.  At the moment, the registration website will not accept any registrations unless you are also bringing a Citroën.  I  plan to rent a car in France in July, (as I presume many other foreign visitors will).  I wrote to the organizers and got a response back from Alain Lasalle (who is in charge of registrations) saying; “You should take the “Visitors” tickets from the website at the beginning of May. The price is not yet set.”  What’s most frustrating is that I am trying to plan my airfare, car rental and accommodation now, to get the best deals, and without assurance that I have an entrance ticket, it makes commitment impossible.  Why the French would not make provision for registration now of foreigners attending without Citroën s beyond me.  I hope it is not an indication as to how well they are planning for the actual event.

Update – Feb. 6, 2019: A presentation outlining the organization of the 100th Anniversary Celebration was shown at a media party for the event at Retromobile. Formally called Rassemblement du Siècle (Rally of the Century), you can download a pdf of it (in French) here.
