Citroëns at Carlisle 2015 – Agenda Announced

Citroëns at Carlisle is coming up fast… at Carlisle Events Import & Kit Nationals, May 15-17, 2015.

FRIDAY, May 15 – Flea Market and Show Field open.

Those cars arriving Friday by early afternoon can be eligible for selection of a Carlisle Elite Award. Winners are chosen by the Carlisle Events staff.  Look for the new look for the club tent, plans are to “step it up a bit” for 2015.

The Renault Owners Club has invited those who would like to join them on a tour of the Rolls Royce Museum in Mechanicsburg around 2 PM.  Please contact Marvin directly if you would like to join them.  (Marvin McFalls, President, Renault Owners Club of North America.  e-mail: mmcfalls01@gmail.com or call at: 865.206.9809).

 

FRIDAY NIGHT – French Charity Dinner & Movie
We have been invited by the Renault Owners Club of North America to join them in Building R at the Carlisle Fairgrounds for their French themed dinner and movie. See attached information and registration form. (Click here). You MUST return the form to Marvin by May 7 !!!! to RSVP. Note that dinner is $10 per person OR a French themed covered dish AND a new unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots OR a $10 donation. So, a covered dish + toy per person, or $20 (or a combination). Seating is LIMITED …. so respond promptly!!!

 

SATURDAY, May 16
A welcome and registration table will be open under the Citroëns at Carlisle tent beginning at 9 AM. People’s choice judging will be held throughout the day, with ballots accepted until 3 PM. There is no charge to register with Citroëns at Carlisle. The show field and flea market will be open all day. Tables and chairs will be provided at the club tent for your relaxation.

We will be celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the DS !!!!

  • 1 PM Seminar:  Paul & Rose Anderson will give a seminar on finding, buying, importing, owning, and maintaining a DS21.
  • 2 PM – Celebrating 60 years of the OS. We will join the Renault Owners Club, who are celebrating 50 years of the R16.  A short informative discussion highlighting each vehicle will be given, followed by a toast, and a salute to their accomplishments!  Look for the celebration in the French car area between the Citroën tent and building R.
  • We plan to have other fun things to participate in at the club tent.. … so be sure to check when you arrive for a schedule of events.
  • We want to impress the crowd this year. …. any Citroën banners, French flags, or other French items to display with your car (of to offer for use at the club tent) are encouraged!
  • All Citroën owners are encouraged to bring a 3×5 or 4×6 photo of their car(s) to display at the club tent. We also encourage you to bring a French themed snack or finger food to the club tent to share with the other Citroën enthusiasts.  Baguettes and Cheese anyone???


SATURDAY LATE AFTERNOON -Tour of the Valley

Leaving approximately 4:15PM to 4:30PM, one of our local Citroën owners will lead those who are interested on a short drive through the area. Maybe a stop somewhere for something sweet, to hold you over till dinner! The tour will last approximately an hour, ending near Carlisle in time for everyone to freshen up before dinner.

SATURDAY NIGHT – Citroëns at Carlisle Dinner at Mayapple Golf Course.

George Lois will be our host at the Pavilion at Fiddlers Restaurant at Mayapple Golf Course, 1 Mayapple Dr. Carlisle.
Plan to arrive AFTER 7 PM (due to parking constraints!!) Buffet Dinner will be served at approximately 7:30 PM. Iced Tea and water will be served with the meal. George & Brad will sponsor Yuengling on Tap, and other drinks will be available at the cash bar.
After dinner, we will have the pavilion for the evening, and will be awarding the People’s Choice awards, as well as giving away door prizes. Those who have attended these events in the past know this is NOT to be missed !!!
The cost of dinner will be $35 per person, which will include gratuity. RSVPs are required, and you pay at the dinner.
We invite Citroën / Peugeot / Renault related businesses to bring inexpensive door prizes, and those attending are always welcome to bring something to add to the door prize table. We strive to have a door prize for everyone in attendance.

SUNDAY MORNING – May 17
We will meet for BREAKFAST at CAFFE 101, 101 Front Street, Boiling Springs, PA 17007. A great venue, overlooking the historic town of Boiling Springs and “Children’s Lake”. It is “Dutch Treat” (separate checks) and you are able to order from the menu. RSVP to Brad if possible. To beat the rush, please arrive between 8AM and 8:30AM … we will have reserved seating for those coming early.
After Breakfast, plan to spend some time walking to see the “boiling spring”, feed the ducks, and other points of interest near the restaurant.

ROAD TOUR 
after breakfast, Brad will lead the group on a tour through the area, with a few leisurely stops, and (weather permitting) some spectacular views.  Several stops are scheduled, then we can tour back to the fairgrounds as a group, or on your own.

SUNDAY AFTERNOON
The club tent will be available for relaxing and fellowship.
The Winners Circle Awards will be presented Sunday. One car is chosen from each country of manufacture … .for a special award and a very special “Winners Circle jacket”. A Citroën HAS been the winner of this award in the past!!! I expect that Citroëns have the best chance of that each year!!!
Grab a sandwich and a soda, and reflect on the weekend, while waiting for the awards presentation.

 

HOW CAN YOU HELP ??
Plan to attend, register with Carlisle Events, RSVP with Brad for meals and especially the Saturday night dinner.

Donate a door prize, bring to dinner Saturday night. Put your business or name on it, so the recipient knows who to thank.
