Sebastian Vettel won Formula One’s season-ending Brazilian Grand Prix on Nov. 24, 2013, matching Michael Schumacher’s record of 13 victories in a year and equaling the nine consecutive wins of Alberto Ascari.

Vettel’s Red Bull team-mate Mark Webber was second in his final F1 race. They both drove Renault cars with V8 engines.

The V8 engine was developed by 250 engineers at Renault Sport F1’s headquarters in Viry-Châtillon.  The curtain is now down on the normally-aspirated V8 engines, and the scene is set for the downsized, turbocharged V6 power units equipped with electrical recovery systems in 2014.

After the Brazilian Grand Prix Mark Webber got to start his Renault F1 for the last time and let the V8 engine run until the exhausts are red hot.   With the limiter off 22,000 rpm is achieved!   Watch it here:
