Here’s a link to 50 photos of the Liberation of Paris that happened from August 19 to 25,  1944.   It ended four years German Nazi of occupation of the French capital.  On the occasion of 70th Anniversary people were encouraged to wander about Paris with the original photos, locate the spot where they were taken, hold up the photos and take a current picture of the same location.  The results provide an interesting interpretation of the term “montage”, giving us a fascinating juxtaposition of new pictures with old.

Of course many of the old photos depict wartime Traction Avants which played heavily in the liberation.  You can spot them in at least five scenes.
