- June 1 ’25 – 1:00 pm – Citroën Mechanics Appreciation Luncheon — San Francisco Region Citroën Car Club (SFRCCC). To honor their invaluable service to us as owners and collectors of Citroëns, Dennis Duesing will be holding a celebratory luncheon at his home in Meadow Vista. Three of the major California Citroën clubs (Sacramento Valley, San Francisco, and Southern California) will be gathering for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet and greet, as well as see some fine examples of Citroën cars. Citroëns are unique, and the owners are eclectic to say the least. We all enjoy our cars when they are operating like they should, and our mechanics have been there for us to make sure they do. Here is an opportunity to meet and give our thanks for the many years of tireless service that the professional Citroën mechanics have provided to our community. Without them we would be at the mercy of our best reading of the maintenance manuals and Haynes books, trying to make repairs and critical adjustments to cars that bear only a passing similarity to all others. Our mechanics are not getting any younger. Donn Garriott, for example, is 87, doesn’t have a lift in his garage and yet he still regularly slides under Citroëns on jackstands to service them! It will be a long drive for some and probably an overnight stay. There are many attractions in the Gold Country and those who come early, there will be plenty to do. The luncheon officially starts at 1:00pm, but early arrivals to secure parking and to see cars are encouraged. Please RSVP with Dennis directly by email at; dcduesing@att.net or call 530-878-8824.
- June 14, ’25 – 11:00 am — San Francisco Region Citroën Car Club (SFRCCC). Melanie and John Brayton are hosting their annual Citroën, Studebaker, and AACA event in Petaluma. Last year there were at least a dozen Citroëns in attendance, about HALF of which were Traction-Avants! In all, probably 50+ cars showed up. The Brayton gathering goes to 3pm (give or take). It’s at 89 Center Road, Petaluma CA 94952. As always, the Braytons will provide the venue and the food, you just need to bring your beverage of choice! We’re planning a Citroën drive starting at the «Pétanques Marinière» across the street from the Marin County Civic Centre. If you can make the event, please just either reply to CitroenSF@gmail.com or send a note to John: editorwbj@gmail.com.
