The Citroën Bijou was a small coupe manufactured in Citroën’s plant at Slough in England. Based on 2CV mechanicals its body was made of fiberglass and with it’s two cylinder 425 cc 12 bhp performance was even more leisurely than a 2CV. The design was thought to be more acceptable in appearance to the conservative taste of British consumers, particularly women, than the utilitarian rural look of the standard 2CV. The Bijou was assembled from 1959 until 1964 but because it was priced comparatively high, only 207 were produced, plus two prototypes.
