Per Westin, ACI Delegate from Sweden, sends us a brief update about what is happening Citroën-wise in the ‘Land of the Midnight Sun’:
Citroën was for about a year and until recently without a distribution agent for the country. Consequently, there were no 100 year anniversary celebrations held at the Citroën-dealers, and sales dropped dramatically. There is now a new agent, the Danish company K.W. Bruun, who is also the agent for Peugeot and Opel, but rumours are that the Peugeot-dealers are not very satisfied with them. Swedish customers of anything PSA will have to wait and see what happens and hope for the best.
The good news is that the Citroën-club of Sweden is very active, and they have celebrated the 100-years of Citroën at several meetings in the past year.
And this year the Citroën-club of Sweden will have a big international event in the south of the country, and not just for Citroën. The 30th Rassemblement International Panhard & Levassor (RIPL), will be held in Älmhult from July 24 – 27. It will take place at the IKEA Hotel in almost the exact spot where IKEA started back in 1943! The organizers are hoping for about 75-100 cars to attend; (Panhard, DB, Veritas and Arista).
