For a vacation this past October I bought a 1971 Citroën GS in The Netherlands and drove it for 14 days through Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, north western Italy and France, putting over 4500 kms on the car. Toward the end of my journey I was heading back north from southern France and by chance went by Lyon where I noticed a few classic cars on the road. I followed them for a bit only to be led to France’s second largest classic automobile event, Le Salon Epoqu’ Auto.
It was spectacular. There was a terrific car show outside the facility by those attending the event and inside a jaw dropping display in two large exhibition halls of classic French marques, Clubs, and vendors of virtually every part you can imagine. I was in heaven. Unfortunately I could only stay a few hours, but I am so happy to have experienced it if only for a brief while.
