The October 2017 issue of the UK magazine “Practical Classics” has a feature on the end of hydropneumatic Citroen car production. The magazine gathered over 20 hydropneumatic Citroens at the Donington Park racing circuit on 8 August. It was claimed to be the first time that every hydropneumatic model sold in the UK had been gathered in one place. The vehicles began with a Traction Avant 15H from 1954 and ended with the C5 model. I took our GSA Special, the only UK specification 1129cc GSA still on the road. Unfortunately, the 140 mile round trip I did that day was in dreadful conditions because of heavy rain: the M1 motorway was like a lake in places. Those are not ideal conditions for a car so prone to rusting. Luckily, the rain held off for most of the time at Donington Park.
