Citroën and Panhard Restoration Candidates Abound at the Pierre Minard Auction

Dozens of vintage Citroëns and other French marques, from the collection of Pierre Minard, a former mechanic in the town of Breteuil (Oise) were auctioned on Sunday, November 20. Despite their poor general condition, many cars sold beyond the estimate announced by Osenat, responsible for the sale.

At the packed venue at the Jules-Verne cultural center nearly 100 cars that the now 96 year old former mechanic of the town acquired throughout his life were offered without reserve. There were many pre-war Citroëns, and post-war — a 1955 Traction Avant 15 6H.

Several Citroën Ami 6 were also on sale with a clear preference for the Ami 6 sedan rather than their estate cousins on the part of buyers.

From the 1970’s two early GS were sold and a rare 1973 SM Gendarmerie. Only five SMs were delivered to the Gendarmerie in France and there were only two known to be left until this one was uncovered.

There were also 2 rare air-cooled 1980 Visa Citroëns that were up for grabs.
