CITROËNVIE members meet in the non-summer months (November – April) on the second Wednesday of every month at 7:00 pm at The Granite Brewery and Restaurant. It is located at: 245 Eglinton Ave E, Toronto, ON M4P 3B7 Phone: (416) 322-0723
There are many ways to get to The Granite Brewery & Restaurant since it is deep in the “bowels of Toronto”. For that reason, it is too difficult to give explicit text instructions. However, The Granite is right on the southeast corner of Eglinton Avenue East and Mount Pleasant Road. It is best to approach on Mount Pleasant, preferably from the south since the entrance to the underground parking (which is very easy to miss) is on Mount Pleasant.
From Highway 401, take the Bayview Avenue exit. Go south on Bayview to Eglinton and turn west (right) on to Eglinton. Travel along Eglinton to Mount Pleasant Road, and turn south (left) on to Mount Pleasant. Turn left into the entrance of the underground parking at the south-most end of the building.
The underground parking is well lighted, secure and FREE! Take your parking stub to the restaurant and exchange it for an exit token once in the restaurant.
I came upon your site while trying to find instructions about parking for The Granite Brewery.
In January of 1962 my pilot father was transferred to Metz, France. He purchased a 1956 Citroen DS. It was in beautiful condition and was fully pampered by my father. This car had belonged to Général Massu who was under house arrest at The Governor’s Mansion in Metz. He had opposed the withdrawal of France from Algeria as ordered by Général de Gaulle and returned to France with his paratroopers.
This car had holes drilled in both front fenders for Massu’s flags. These screw in-holes remained empty for the 2.5 years the vehicle belonged to my father. It had running boards, the knob for changing the suspension and was entirely comfortable. It did a good job of hauling our four person trailer throughout Europe. Do you have a photo of this type of car?
It was such a pleasant surprise to see your post on The Granite Brewery website.
I thought the photo of your bespoke dessert was darling, but it would be called Chevron Mousse
