La Croisière Verte Has Arrived in Cape Town
100 years after André Citroën’s Croisière Noire, the Croisière Verte has successfully crossed the African continent, this time in four ë-Ami 100% electric vehicles.

In addition to the e-C3, Citroën began exporting the internal combustion engine C3 to Asian and African markets last year.
What’s more is that ironically there is a link to Amherst College in MA, where the only USA ICCCR (International Citroën Car Club Rally) was held in in 2002.
Three Africar vehicles were built with a wooden body and used Citroën GS engines mated to 2CV manual gearboxes driving the front wheels.
The 2CV has found loyal followers in Mali, Africa, including Alioune Badra Cissouma, a retired teacher.
