Sourced from the Charente region of France and fully restored on a rotisserie in Milan, Italy by marque specialist MAC Restauri, it was accessorized to resemble factory rally entries in the 1968 London to Sydney Marathon. Praised at the time by Le nuancíer DS: https://www.nuancierds.fr/tuning73.htm
Purchased from MAC Restauri in 2005 by the 2nd owner, an American, who drove it to Paris to participate in the 50th Anniversary of the DS, he then exported it to the USA.

The current (and 3rd) owner purchased the car in Wisconsin where the previous owner had returned it to its non-rally original appearance but preserved all the rally components; cutaway rear fenders, custom dashboard with Halda Tripmaster, Cibié Oscar driving lights, etc, — all of which can be reconfigured on the vehicle and are included in the sale.
It has been improved and maintained without regard to expense by Dave Burnham and the late Carter Willey. This included installation of a lightened flywheel to make the car more lively and responsive. The original flywheel is included in the sale. (As a little treat, Carter added lights that glow through the otherwise inert red plastic markers on top of the front fenders.)

Converted during restoration to LHM but retains LHS “period look” spheres.
Well preserved, highly original and authentic ‘premier nez’, AC 512 absinthe with an unpainted fiberglass roof. The car retains original paint in the interior, under the hood and trunk lid.
Seat belt anchors have been installed front and rear.
It flawlessly completed the 2016 California Mille plus onward travel to Los Angeles and Phoenix.
