Citroën Autoclub Canada’s annual Christmas party was held on Dec. 2. This year at a new location, The Beiruti Grande Café & Restaurant, where we have also decided to hold all our monthly meetings for 2018.
36 members attended and enjoyed a delicious Middle Eastern –Mediterranean themed lunch as well as presentation by President George Dyke on the Club’s status and activities planned for the upcoming year.
George presented the 2016 Golden Sphere ‘Philippe’ Award to Roy Pope (pictured right) who won for his effort this year to resuscitate a 1979 2CV Dolly that was owned previously by John Painter in the Tillsonburg, ON area. The recognition also gives credence to Roy’s working in previous years on another 2CV that he and Harriet Nixon imported from Europe as well as a DS and a Traction Avant that they brought over from England. (We had to physically heighten the Golden Sphere trophy this year to include a 3rd tier for Roy’s plaque. In doing so we now get enough space to show winners for the next 11 years!) Roy is a very enthusiastic member of our Club and we hope he has a big enough space to display what is becoming mammoth sized recognition achievement! Congratulations Roy!
Everyone got to take home warm winter Citroënvie tuque in a choice of 3 colours; black, dark blue or grey.
Our Christmas party has become an annual tradition. A great way to meet friends, find out all the exciting things the Club has planned for 2018 and exchange best wishes for the Holiday Season!
