Carlos Tavares managed to take a week off from his role as CEO of Groupe PSA and participate in the 23rd Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique, held from January 29th to the 5th of February 2020.
Carlos has been an amateur race car driver since the age of twenty-two and had a career as a rally driver until the early 1990s. He has previously competed in the Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique and actually works on his cars!
In the video documenting the 2020 rally, Carlos and his partner, Pauline Schoofs, can be spotted in a white Peugeot 104 ZS.
Although they didn’t win, (that honour went to Henrik Bjerregaard and Jaromir Svec in a 1979 Ford Escort RS2000 MkII) he and Pauline placed 108th out of 250 entrants. But hey, it’s about the experience in this historic rally and it’s just nice the see that Carlos can manage a few days to enjoy driving his rally car instead of driving PSA!
Watch the video (below) and check out Carlos in the shots at 7:24 and 11:50 and he and Pauline pulling away at 11.43:
