Citroën has announced that the grand gathering of the ‘Centennial Citroën’ will take place at the Michelin Centre of Technologies in Ladoux France on July 19 – 21, 2019. It promises to be the centenary Citroën anniversary celebration event of the year, so start making plans to attend!
Michelin’s Ladoux Technology Centre is located a few kilometers from Clermont-Ferrand in Cébazat. It was created by Michelin in 1965 and is where the massive DS vehicle ‘Poids Lourd Rapide’ (which loosely translates as the ‘fast truck,’ but the French nicknamed it ‘milles-pattes’ – ‘centipede’) ran on the circuit testing Michelin truck tires. (More on the Poids Lourd Rapide here).
The research test centre has 19 test tracks totalling 41 km in length and is staffed by over 3500 Michelin employees and performs 37,000 evaluations per year . A modernization was launched last December, and is slated to be completed in 2018.
The address for the complex is 63118 Cébazat, France. You can see an aerial view of it here.
We’ll post more details of the 100th Anniversary celebration of Citroën as they are announced.
