For Sale – 1970 Citroën DS21 Pallas, 5-speed

Air conditioning, turning headlights, light brown leather seats and ocher carpeting.

A brief history of this 1970 DS21 Pallas:

Car was purchased new from ABC Motors in Tacoma WA by Dr William Nesselhof, a Seattle psychiatrist. When the
carʼs license expired in May 1987, it was stored in a garage and never used until 2015. Unfortunately, during the
last years of storage, the garageʼs roof leaked and water soaked the interior that became pretty damp. But
surprisingly, the chassis as well as the floors both inside the car and in the trunk were untouched. Because its
structural components were in great shape, I bought that car to make of it a jewel of a DS.

It took two years of restoration to strip the car inside out, replace all the unusable parts, and bring the following
enhancements to its mechanical and body features:

. overhauled engine and 5-speed manual gearbox
. 3 core radiator and water pump rebuilt to fit air conditioner
. Coolaire AC fitted with new Sanden compressor, evaporator, hoses etc
. new high pressure pump
. rebuilt suspension spheres
. professionally rebuilt rack and pinion steering rack
. revised drive shafts
. new tie rods
. 5 new Michelin XAS 180 tires and paint-coated rimsʼ
. refurbished or new body parts throughout
. new insulating rubber seals
. re-polished rear and front bumpers featuring vented pieces for AC
. European style turning headlights
. new chrome embellishers throughout
. new leather seats at the front and good used replacement at the rear
. new 3-point seatbelts at the rear and good used replacement at the front
. new grey velvet headliner
. new velvet upholstery and carpets padded with Dunlopillo foam
. new Pioneer CD stereo inserted in a custom-built leather covered console
. two-coat Maserati metallic paint
. new trunk paneling and carpeting

Appraised value by Torontoʼs Antique & Classic Auto Appraisal Service at $50,000 Canadian in 2018 prior to installing Coolaire AC, front leather seat covers imported from Italy and custom-built leather covered stereo console additions.

Price: $35,000 US or CDN equivalent.

  1. I love these DS Pallas ! In 1972 I had a drive in one of them and never forgot it we doing 100 miles an hour and drove over a railroad track never felt a thing the stopping power was amazing too ! I use to own a Fiat 128 at the time they were selling these next to mine in Bathurst NB Canada. Even saw an SM worth 15,000 at the time my god I always loved those cars !!

  2. Comment and questions ! Looks gorgeous. Does the AC have 3 condensors ?I see one in front of the radiator as well ?Is there an electrical fan for that ?I installed several AC Systems in California like this .Never saw an accumulator like in this DS.I assume it is ICE COLD ?
