This is a very early 1946, post-war, Belgian made Traction Avant (SN 112725).
The vehicle was likely assembled with pre-war parts including opening and closing hood ventilators and Pilote wheels.
The vehicle has experienced approximately 10,000 Km since an engine rebuild in 2017.
Key features are:
- Rebuilt engine 2017, good compression and strong oil pressure
- Transaxle refresh including installation of 10/30 ring and pinion gears
- Re-cored radiator
- Modern diaphragm clutch
- Front brakes fitted with turned drums and Yellowbox Engineering sliding brake shoes
- Completely rewired with correct color-coded wires
- Auxiliary electric cooling fan
- Extensive body work and repaint (2017)
- Fresh interior with period correct upholstery and soft cotton headliner
- Starter cable replaced with push button start (original parts available)
Recent work includes gasket replacements to eliminate oil leaks, oil change, valve adjustment and front brake work.
The car is not perfect. While it runs and drives well, the body has some nicks and dings and has a slight shudder when hard braking that smooths out as decelerating.
At asking price of $14,500 USD, the car comes with some spare parts, books and tools including the essential front brake drum puller, ball joint extractor and home built engine test stand.
