We are saddened to report the passing of Ralph R. Nauss, father of Brad Nauss, on December 13, 2015 at 88 years of age. Though not a Citroën owner or member of any club, many will remember that for many years, before his health would not allow him to travel, Ralph assisted Brad in the Brad Nauss Automotive vendor booths at Carlisle and Rendezvous.
Ralph passed away with wife Dorothy by his side. He was born on January 28, 1927, at the historic Samuel Albright house on 36th street, in Camp Hill, PA, the oldest child of Ralph R. Nauss, Sr. and Margaret C. (Bucher) Nauss.
Ralph spent his childhood on the family farm near Lisburn, and after marriage was a long-time resident of Monaghan Township, York County.
Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Dorothy E. (Dellinger) Nauss and three sons; William A. Nauss and wife Evelyn, Bradley E. Nauss and wife Anna May, both of Mechanicsburg, and John R. Nauss and wife Louise of Sarasota, FL. Also surviving are grandchildren Jennifer A. Nauss and Andrew M. Nauss, both of Mechanicsburg. Ralph was preceded in death by sisters Clara L. Henneman and Alva B. Gamber.
Ralph retired from Mowery Orchards, Dillsburg, after 50 years of service where he was employed by three generations of the Mowery family. After retirement, Ralph worked part time at Davis Country Living/Agway, Mechanicsburg and Dellinger Auto Sales, Lewisberry.
Ralph enjoyed hunting, especially rabbit and deer, enjoyed woodworking, and was a life-long fan of bluegrass music. Ralph and Dorothy enjoyed traveling, especially to the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, Dorothy’s childhood home.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Homeland Hospice, 2300 Vartan Way, suite 115, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
