La Dolce Vita avec Les Belles Citroëns

The 40th Annual Concorso Italiano was held Saturday, August 16, 2025 at the stunning Bayonet Black Horse Golf Course during Monterey Car Week.

It was promoted as a premier celebration of Italian automotive heritage that brings together legendary marques like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, and Alfa Romeo, alongside rare classics, cutting-edge supercars, and exclusive unveilings.

This year there was a French influence with the appearance of 4 Citroëns. Tim Broers and Evan Morris showed their immaculate 1966 DS 21. The interior is original, the paint has been redone in its original colors. Tim Broers did all the restoration work, with some guidance from Garage Longueville. It was basically a complete disassembly. Tim rebuilt engine and Chris Dubuque built the hydraulic components. All cleaning, painting, detailing and assembly was done by Tim, and he chose to keep it LHS, as that would have been correct in 1966.

The Salmon colored D wagon is owned by Dennis Deusing. While not completely true to original, Dennis did a wonderful job on the restoration and incorporated his favorite Citroën items, such as the DS dash with Jeager instruments. The car is a crowd pleaser and drives well.

The Verte Argent Ami Super belongs to Peter Bichier. It uses the same 1015cc 4-cyliner air-cooled engine as in the early GS. Peter purchased the car in France, largely complete except for the interior. He finished the interior here with parts from Europe. The GS engine in an Ami body makes a very quick car. The Ami Super came with anti-roll bars and a larger fuel tank. Peter loves driving it in the spirited way it was intended.

Lon Price from Garage Longueville, in Santa Cruz, attended the show in his 1972 DS 21 Citromatic, though not shown on the show field..

  1. Great to see these iconic Citroëns at the event! The DS21 and Ami Super 6CV look fantastic, especially the US spec D Safari. Tim Broers DS21 is a true beauty. Well done to all the owners for showcasing such amazing cars!
