In response to Rétromobile 2022 being delayed from its original date of Feb. 2 – 6 and now happening on Mar. 16 – 22 at Porte de Varsailles in Paris, RM | Sotheby’s has decided to keep their planned auction venue on Feb. 2 but relocate it to their Paris office at 76 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, 75008. The auction will commence at 5 pm.
The auction preview location will be at the Place Vendôme, 750001 at the following times:
Feb 1: — 10 am — 7 pm
Feb 2: — 10 am — 5 pm
The auction will have limited audience capacity and is reserved for registered bidders only.
As part of the auction they will be offering this 1965 Citroën DS 19 Décapotable:
Finished in metallic Palladium Grey with cognac leather interior, this DS Cabriolet has been fitted with a period-correct replacement engine. It returned to Europe in 2008 after being registered in Martinique, and has since undergone a restoration that included; having the body stripped and repainted, new upholstery fitted, as well as running gear serviced such as the brakes, clutch, and suspension.
The sale estimate is €150,000 – €175,000 EUR

The fact that the engine was replaced probably indicates why the car is not being offered with an Henri Chapron certificate of authenticity. And we note that the steering wheel seems to have some issues with the ribbed wrap, and the glove box lid has a rip on the lower left edge.
