2025 Bastille Day Rally in New York City

Organized by Citroën enthusiast Howie Seligmann, the Bastille Day Rally in New York City took place this year on Sunday, July 13 with a parade of mostly Citroëns commencing on Riverside Drive South & 122nd Street (Adjacent to Grants’ Tomb) and meandering through Manhattan to Maison de la Culture then on to the French Consulate.

We say mostly Citroëns because a Peugeot RCZ participated that was imported from Japan. It was quite a surprise to appear in the US as the earliest ones were made in 2009 and imports must be at least 25 years old. The owner apparently got lucky — he went to Customs pretty much anticipating that he would get his car seized and they let him go. Same with the DMV!

Staged in cooperation with the Greater New York Citroën & Velosolex Club, and in partnership with the Alliance Française, the NYPD and the city’s parks department, the event showcased the passion for French automotive heritage and strengthened cultural ties between France and the United States in a joyful, community-based celebration.
