The last weekend of October 2022 saw a convergence of air-cooled Citroens and many one-off variations at Spa-Francorchamps for the 24H2CV.
The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, frequently referred to as Spa, is a 7.004 km motor-racing circuit located in Stavelot, Belgium. It is the current venue of the Formula One Belgian Grand Prix, hosting its first Grand Prix in 1925, and has held a Grand Prix every year since 1985. Spa also hosts several other international events including the 24 Hours of Spa, the World Endurance Championship 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. It is also home to the Uniroyal Fun Cup 25 Hours of Spa, one of the longest motor races in the world.
The circuit has undergone several redesigns through its history, most extensively in 1979 when the track was modified and shortened from a 14.100 km circuit using public roads to a 7.004 km permanent circuit due to safety concerns with the old circuit.
This year’s 24H2CV event weekend from Oct. 28-30 included; the traditional 24H2CV Parade and driving on the race track, a 24 hours race, and on-site camping with fun activities.
Burton Car Company took their highly modified sportscar there to compete. We have some photos of it and the event courtesy of Burton and Jerome Wassenaar.
The race track at Spa Francorchamps was the place to be for 2CV fans during the 24H 2CV 2022 but even if you missed it, you can experience the excitement watching the official Burton 2CV aftermovie:
