This 1953 Traction Avant Familiale belonged to George Lewis, who had collected quite a number of unusual cars. He actually had owned a second Traction Avant, but someone spotted it at Dave Burnham’s shop, and made an offer he couldn’t refuse. George has now died, and his family has reluctantly decided to sell the car.
Dave Burnham, who attended to the car for George, says that it is in good condition (especially for a 70 year old car!).
This is the long wheelbase version of the Traction, with 3rd row seating to accommodate up to 8 people, or any number of children.
It has the 1,911 cc 4-cylinder engine and 3-speed manual gearbox.
The car is located in Salem, New York, about halfway between Dave Burnham’s shop and Montreal. You are welcome to come and have a good look at it.
Price: $19,500 USD.
