California Citroën Lovefest

The French program Automoto, posted a video on their YouTube channel focusing on Citroën enthusiasts in the USA (more specifically in California) who are “snapping up these French automotive gems”.

The video starts in Santa Monica at a French café at the beach, then moves on to Citroën service at Marrs Automotive where you can see owner JF Martin working on Jamie Meyer’s DS Break that is undergoing an engine-out rebuild.

Later in the clip they travel to Palm Springs to show how Citroëns complement its renowned architecture with Citroënvie member Jena Weiss describing how the marvels of the DS stuck in her brain, so much so that she had to have one. She organized a local meet in which Greg Long’s DS21 Cabriolet can be seen and Alison Hartzler and her husband Armani attend with their SM that we featured about their adventure buying it in Montreal and driving all the way to California.

The video wraps up at the Peterson Automotive Museum in Los Angeles where a BX 4TC (one of 200 made) is displayed and museum Curator Johnathan Eisen discloses that he actually runs about town in his 1991 Citroën LNA.

The 9-minute clip mentions that there are dozens of Citroën clubs in California alone — a highly optimistic claim — but then the French do tend to exaggerate with unbridled passion when it comes to Citroëns.

Get immersed in their enthusiasm by watching the video:
