An original Citroën SM with 80,000 kilometres. The car is primarily in its original state, except for the 123 electronic ignition, and a stainless steel exhaust system.
The car was originally purchased in Montreal from the Ste Catherine Citroën facilities in 1974.
This is a 1972 model, with 2.7 liters and a 5-speed manual transmission. I am the third owner but I know the entire history of the car dating back to its original purchase.
The first owner had the car from 1974 to 1985. The second owner then had it from 1985 to 2024.
This car has been well cared for by all its previous owners and has always been kept in a heated garage while not in use. It runs smoothly. The original leather interior is in excellent condition. The previous owner’s wife cleaned and treated the leather interior every year since 1985. I did the same since 2024. I recently had the air conditioning restored and it is now working perfectly. Mechanically it is excellent and works as it should.
I drove from Montreal to Saratoga Springs (see photos) and back the same day this past June for the Citroën Rendezvous without any issues.
The car is not perfect, but it is in very good original condition. We noted a small area of superficial rust on the rear hatch and the wood.
The car is located one hour from Montreal, in Joliette (QC).
Asking price is $44,500 Canadian dollars. Contact Olivier Fontaine. Email: oli_fontaine@hotmail.com.
Here are some pictures from the 70’s and 90’s from the two previous owners and some recent pictures of the car.
