OK Citroën fanatics — here’s a video that is sure to impress. André Verner’s 1971 DS21 was featured as the February picture in our 2023 Citroënvie calendar. If you thought it looked perfect in that photo (the title photo here), last month André completed a lovely 5-minute video of the car that starts with a look underneath.
We think you’ll agree that André should win an award for the most immaculate underside of a DS — heck — any Citroën! Of course, the entire car is in pristine condition, and Andre’s pride and passion is evident throughout.
He also shows us something many DS owners are not familiar with when changing a wheel; the crank handle can be inserted into the center square hole in rim and then into the center hole of the hub to serve as a means to easily mount the rim, sliding it on aligned with the 5 studs.
We especially like that he included a shot of the Citroënvie window decal (at the 4:30 mark) that we gave out at Rendezvous in Saratoga Springs, NY.
Best wishes go to André as he enjoys his treasure in Trois-Rivières, Quebec.
And here’s a link to a bonus video from André where he demonstrates how he can hand-crank start his DS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyX5d2ySq20
Wow. That is what I call devotion.
