With over 300,000 Citroën DS3 and cabrio versions sold since their release, these models have been a great commercial success. To build on this momentum, Citroën is now offering them with a slight facelift that includes a new LED headlight pod design.
Inspired by Citroën’s Number 9 and Wild Ruby concepts, these new projection headlamps are composed of three modules and a Xenon LED module ( a world first ) that Citroën touts as providing both an aesthetic and technical change that evokes “diamonds in their case “.
Lighting quality is increased with a more homogeneous projected light, while reducing power consumption of projectors (35% in dipped mode and 75% in beam mode). Another benefit with with LED is increased lifespan ( 20,000 hours). LED lighting is also placed in the front air intakes, while the rear lights get a 3D effect with a chrome DS3 trim accent and turn indicators that use LEDs for directional scrolling.
Along with these lighting enhancements, Citroën has also provided its new city petrol (e- Vti 82 hp) and diesel (BlueHDI 100 and 120 hp) power plants, as well as their automatic braking system ” Active City Brake “.
Citroën is also expanding personalization options that include a laser-etched dashboard strip, a screen-printed rear window, various wheel patterns and special prints for the convertible’s roof.
