New information about Citroën’s history always piques our interest and with the Holiday Season upon us, its a great time to consider these 3 informative Citroën books;

La Ferté Vidame — Entre mythes et mystères 1938 / 1998

Yannick Billy, who worked for many years at Citroen, has written this 350 page book about the history of Citroen’s development and test track facility at La Ferté Vidame.

It is being officially presented at Salon L’Epoque Auto in Lyon this week-end at a special price of 39 € instead of the regular price of 45 €. It will be available through  l’Amicale Citroën France.

100 years of Dutch Citroën advertising

The Netherlands has always been a strong market for Citroën. Now Citroën Netherlands is celebrating its centenary with the publication (in Dutch) “100 jaar Nederlandse Citroën-advertenties”.

The most unusual, sensational and special Dutch Citroën ads from the past century have been compiled in this 240 page publication.

From the first prudent advertisements for the 2CV and DS to pioneering graphic work in the late 1960s. From ads in Friesian that had to be rectified to an angry minister and a complaint from Nature Conservation Society. From the success of the BX and the countless special series in the 80s and 90s to advertisements for today’s models.
An impressive journey through a hundred years of Dutch Citroën history.

Citroën Traction – The numbers

The Citroën Traction Avant, with its more than 23 years of production history, has been described in a large number of books through the years. This book brings a huge amount of new and unknown information.

The history of the cars is told by their four principal numbers: the serial number, the factory number, the body number and the engine number. Most of the information comes directly from the ultimate and unique source: the old factory ledgers, where every single car that ever left the Citroën factory at Quai de Javel in Paris is listed.

In this book you will find detailed information about all the different Traction models through the years, including factory codes, production series and much more.

With the information in the book it is possible to identify any Traction with far more accuracy than before, now based on the factory number rather than the serial number.

The book also brings new information about the evolution of the different TA-models and how they are connected.

 This 192 page fact book is an important supplement to all previously published material and a natural companion to all Traction enthusiasts’ bookshelves.
