Acquired in New York in 1984 and later rebuilt by master mechanic Dave Burnham. Shipped to Santa Fe, NM, in 1988, where it is currently garaged.
This long wheel base version of the Traction Avant with the uni-tailgate upward locking trunk was manufactured from 1954-1957. It was designed for farm and country use with a removable back seat. It was advertised as ideal for carrying barrels of wine to sacks of potatoes.
There is a huge amount of space in the back and with the rear seat in place one’s legs don’t touch the back of the front seat.
It was reupholstered by master upholsterer, Eddie Morales, in 2019, and an electric fuel system was added in 2022.
It comes with some spare parts, a repair manual and a catalogue of Citroëns as well as a repair manual.
The owner, who has enjoyed it for forty years, is looking to offer the opportunity to another enthusiast.
