1987 BMW Powered – Citroën 2CV Charleston

This 2CV is fitted by Pete Sparrow with a BMW 850 R motor bolted to the Citroën gearbox.  (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAKnduyOzGk)

Works very well, making more than 70 hp. I cruise the open highways at 70, 80, and 90 mph.

I brought this machine in from the UK a year ago January, so it’s right-hand-drive. (Citroën 2CV BMW at Mallory Park 2013)

It is a very solid car, no rust or rot. I repainted the floor with truck bed liner. It came out very good. Did a full under-coating with Flex Seal, painted all the seat frames and installed all new seat covers.

Dave Burnham installed new head lights and did a top-notch inspection in Jan 2021, servicing and lubing the suspension systems, (invoice available). Bearings, boots, brakes and shocks are all good. I installed new seat covers and a new hood liner.

This car is a sleeper, and a survivor car, no show car. I’ve repainted half of a fender repairing a rust hole, and painted the hood flat red to keep a survivor look. The bumpers are finished in a clear patina look. Some dents are showing here and there. All doors, hood and trunk fit well.

All gauges work as they should. This car is buy and drive. The tires are very good with a new spare tire in the trunk.

I and the car are in Plymouth Connecticut. The car is stored indoors inside my barn.

I can deliver the car to the Saratoga Rendezvous in June this year. I drove it up in 2021, as it was on display.
