June 11, 2008

Our June CAC meeting was a very special one. We had a farewell salute to Jacky Valée, who relocated from Brampton (near Toronto, Ontario) to the east of Quebec (near the Maine border) in the rural town of Ste Rose de Watford.  Many people came out to personally wish him the best!!

For years Jacky has been a cornerstone of our Citroën community in Southern Ontario, servicing a great many members’ cars. We expressed our thanks to Jacky for his years of dedication to servicing our Citroëns by presenting him a personalized crystal award that featured a three-dimensional DS engraved inside. Inscribed in the crystal was the following:

A Jacky Valée
maître-mécanicien de la déesse,
en reconnaissance des années passées à maintenir les Citroën à Toronto
Citroën Autoclub Canada

The award was presented by CAC president George Dyke.  Also included was a lighted base so that it would be truly accentuated when it is proudly displayed in his new home.

Jacky and his wife Lise have been enjoying the summer in Quebec.  Of course one of the first things Jacky did was build a new garage on his property.  Could a migration of classic Citroëns be far behind?
