Groupe PSA and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles have unveiled the logo of their merged 50/50 venture they have officially named Stellantis.
According to their press release, the logo symbolizes the rich heritage of the founding companies of Stellantis and the strength of the new group’s portfolio of 14 historic automotive brands. It also illustrates the richness of the diversity of the professional profiles of its employees working in all regions of the world.
The name Stellantis – whose Latin root ‘stello’ means ‘shining with stars’ embodies the visual representation of the spirit of optimism, energy and renewal of a diverse and innovative company, determined to become one.
Looking at the 3D animation provided, the logo looks to be more suited to be the opening of a feature film, but perhaps that was the intended impact.
They do go on to state that Stellantis aims to be the leader of the next era of sustainable mobility. How the Citroën brand will be assimilated into Stellantis is yet to be determined.
The merger is expected to take place by the end of the first quarter of 2021, subject to customary closing conditions, including approval of the transaction by the shareholders of both companies and the satisfaction of competition and other regulatory requirements.
