Although the Coronavirus has seriously affected or cancelled all the events planned for this year worldwide, the organizing committee of the World Meeting of 2CV Friends is still working hard to organize the event from July 27th to August 1st, 2021.
Should a situation similar to that of 2020 arise next year, with the resulting legal restrictions on events, they will of course have to act accordingly. In the meantime, it is important, not only for the organizers but also for all the 2CV’s friends, that as many participants as possible register by the end of 2020, to support the event and continue to benefit from the preferential rate, which is valid until December 31, 2020.

The organizers say that they we will make every effort to ensure that the World Meeting in 2021 can be maintained with all participants pre-registered, and in the extreme case, with a lower participation or postponement to a later date.
In the case of lower participation, there would be no selection procedure – admission would be based on the date of the pre-registrations received – there is no other way. Certainly, participants in the meetings who arrive spontaneously (without pre-registration) would then have to be refused. Hopefully this will not happen and this pandemic will disappear as quietly as it came.
Nevertheless, this year’s Coronavirus situation could have an impact on the event, even if everything returns to normal.
There are 2 scenarios:
– Few people come: Due to fear and uncertainty, many people decide not to go to the World Meeting 2021 in Switzerland. A bit of solidarity would do us good!
– We are overwhelmed: Because many meetings have been cancelled this year and especially because there are no big events like the Nationale in France, the DET and the ICCCR, the desire to go to Switzerland for the World Meeting is even greater and we are overwhelmed with participants. Entry to the meeting could be restricted by the authorities. In this case, all those who have pre-registered would certainly be admitted, and those who arrive spontaneously might not be admitted.
