Three Interesting Citroëns in Osenat Fontainebleau Auction

Three Citroëns are in the upcoming Osenat auction to be held in Fontainebleau, France on January 25, 2020. We mention them because two are probably going to reflect what European pricing will be in 2020; – a 2CV driver in a James Bond motif, and a DS barn find that actually runs. The third one is a Citroën you don’t see very often – a 1924 B2 Commerciale. Here they are:

1924 B2 Commerciale (VIN: 136920). Est: 10 000 – 12 000 Euros.
A true survivor, that went under a gentle restoration in the 1990s when the woodwork was redone, the chassis treated, body repainted and the mechanics revised.

1987 2CV6 (VIN: VF7AZKA00KA200343). Est: 9 000 – 12 000 Euros.
This 2CV6 has undergone a major restoration from the chassis to the look like the 2CV in the famous chase scene in 1981 James Bond film “For Your Eyes Only” starring Roger Moore and Carole Bouquet, where the pair hop into the 2CV after Bond’s Lotus Esprit gets blown up. They to make their escape through the winding roads (and steep-sloping olive groves) in Greece and notably, in one scene the 2CV tips over and is quickly righted by hand.

For the film, two special 2CVs were built that had the flat-4 engine taken from a Citroën GS which more than doubled the power. The hood and fenders and frame were slightly lengthened to accommodate the larger engine.

As this cars’ date indicates, it is not one of the 2CVs that Citroën launched to coincide with the film. Original special edition 2CVs that Citroën offered for sale were fitted with the standard 602cc engine and painted yellow with “007” on the front doors and fake bullet hole stickers.

1967 DS 21 PALLAS (VIN: 4385535). Est: 6 000 – 10 000 Euros.
Registered on January 19, 1967, in Bordeaux, it was repainted at some point in blue (reference AC 421) and has remained in the same hands for the past 27 years. Recently out of the barn, it has been restarted. Overall reportedly rust-free, it looks to be a good restoration candidate to make a very nice DS, especially since 1967 is the most favoured model year.
