Here’s the reason we say that if you are buying an SM, buy only the best. Three SMs appeared for sale on Craigslist in San Francisco. They are owned by the Ditullio Family of Los Gatos and are part of an Estate Sale.
Two apparently run, but the one at $29.5K is by no means a bargain. The second is more in line market value, but probably needs at least another $12K its price before it is ready to go on the road as a driver. The third is definitely a parts car. To purchase it, well — maybe if you are both ambitious and lucky it could be resuscitated, but the cost in doing so should cause any rational buyer to pause and think. You can be pretty much assured that you will be digging deep into your wallet once work has commenced on any of them!
