Citroëvie member Gary Magwood from Belleville Ontario has been on an adventurous trek with his 1955 Traction Avant 11BL, driving on blue and red highways (no Interstates if possible) from Belleville all the way to the Amelia Island Concours, in Florida, and then on down the East coast to meet a Canadian theatre company who perform on a tall ship (www.caravanstage.org) who are moving their ship up the West coast from La Belle in the Okeechobee to St. Petersburg.
Gary contacted us yesterday to say that he is in Folksone, Georgia on my his way back. So far, after almost a month on the road, his TA has chalked up about 4,500 kms without a single hiccup! Only one slow leaking tube required using the spare… and finding a tire store that still knows what a tube is turned out to be a bit of a challenge!
Gary has started a blog at: https://www.garymagwoodroadtrip.blogspot.ca/ Check out his progress!
Not satisfied with just this trip, Gary is planning an extended trip with the 61 year old Traction in August heading to Pebble Beach, California. Now that’s Citroënthusiasm!
