A 3D Printing Source for Citroën Pieces

Quentin Hinzelin is a Citroën saviour—at least, he hopes to be. He is the person behind RetroPrint3D in France.

When he arrived in Nantes, he didn’t have any family there. To make getting around easier, he was able to take over his grandfather’s car—a 1991 Citroën XM. Quentin was very appreciative of the vehicle and wanted to keep it in the best possible condition. However, when he tried to restore it, he encountered a shortage of spare parts.

He designed and 3D printed a part to meet his needs, then shared it with the community, and it was the enthusiasm of the enthusiasts that convinced him to offer it for sale. Only later did he gradually expand his catalog.

Today, Quentin develops parts for other Citroën models and brands, notably Peugeot and Renault, and several projects are underway for other manufacturers, such as Alpine.

Currently a student, Quentin efforts are supported by many stakeholders. He benefited from what he feels was the invaluable support of the Pépites ecosystem—a national organization that supports young entrepreneurs as they develop their ideas.

Quentin thrives on challenges and is committed to developing solutions and creative processes to expand his knowledge while producing parts that are nearly impossible to make with 3D printing.

As a startup, RetroPrint3D has only begun producing a few pieces, mostly for the XM. However, Quentin is open to creating parts to order. You can request them here: https://retroprint3d.com/sur-mesure/ but Quentin points that website is currently quite basic. He plans to revamp it very soon. It originally included a contact form, that he had to remove in recent days because he was receiving about twenty spam messages a day. This made managing genuine requests very difficult. For now, the easiest way to contact him is directly at this email address shown on the page.
