On April 8 Citroën’s converged on the Longwood Cruise for the annual Florida Citroën meet. Rather that meeting on their own this year as André Garnier had arranged in past years, (André was recuperating from a shoulder operation), organizers Willem van de Wouw and Michael Vest decided that introducing a bit of French culture to a primarily North American car meet would be a good opportunity see and do more. They arranged with the Longwood Cruise organizers to park all the French cars together.
With many different types of enthusiasts’ cars to look at look at, food trucks for goodies to eat and drink (including beer and wine), it was a big event, and the Citroëns were received with a with both admiration and curiosity, as was a Panhard PL17 and a Talbot Matra.
As you can see the Florida weather was perfect and attendance was good, though there was distinct lack of hydraulic suspension Citroëns to entertain the crowd .
