AutoEsoterica has posted a video on YouTube with Jason White, car designer and professor at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, explaining why the Citroën DS is a brilliant and iconic automotive design. Host Craig Cole and Jason provide a very interesting and astute analysis of the design of the DS. Jason points out the unique styling elements that make it unlike practically any other car ever built while also becoming an undisputed classic.

Good video, lots of video of the cars I’ve not seen before so good on them for being more original in their selection of old footage. I sure wish those who talk about the car would get their facts straight, the designer states that if one sphere fails they all fail which just isn’t correct. But the design analysis is pretty thorough. I’m not surprised he gave it an A, nor that he wouldn’t change anything since the automotive world has weighed in pretty strongly that this is one of the greatest cars of all time.
