In the latest episode of Jay Leno’s Garage, Jay profiles the legendary Citroën Traction Avant, the car that incorporated many features such as; front-wheel-drive, monocoque construction, hydraulic brakes, and rack & pinion steering — what has became the basis for development of the modern automobile, including advanced Citroëns like the original DS and the SM.
In this case, Jay’s Traction is a 1949 six-cylinder model that he had his eye on for some time in the Los Angeles area.
With all the Covid-19 issues in California, Jay comes across somewhat tired in this video and some of the history of the Traction and André Citroën that he recounts is a little off, but the driving impression Jay conveys is spot-on.
