Absolutely wonderful condition throughout. Car has never seen rust or accident damage and owned by the man who imported it new.
It currently has the original 56,510 kms and needs nothing.
About 2 years ago I had the car stripped of everything and repainted (mainly because I was removing a lot of the original plastic cladding that dated the car and it was faded a little. (See photo of car before painting). This car is so long and beautiful, I wanted to show it as the sleek, bullet like beauty it has and really bring it into the 21st century. All the stainless trim was wrapped in matte black after the $7,000 paint was applied.
Then we completely gutted the interior and had full headliner redone in ultra suede and all the interior redone in full black leather. Of course much of the interior was still the gray original panels which were all cleaned and gray leather chevrons were upholstered into each of the 4 seats leather. All new carpet was custom done.
One of the down sides to the CXs of this period is they had Metric sized wheels which only took Michelin TRX tires (which are unavailable now) so I sourced a beautiful set of 16 inch alloys wheels in Holland and flew them in, had them powder coated and added new Michelins all around.
We took the European headlamps apart and installed LED lamps with halos.
The car runs great and has been always serviced here in Atlanta area by Gary Kelly of Fun Cars of Georgia (a true Citroen master mechanic). All hydraulics are working as they should. Car brakes, steers and rides perfectly. And of course this car being the later Turbo II, has the intercooler that was new for 1987 model year.
All windows work and car is fully ready to be driven anywhere in unbelievable comfort. Has factory AC which functions and blows cold. There has never been a finer highway cruiser. This has to be one of the best CXs anywhere and I have loved it, but now at age 75, I have too many cars to keep up with as I am compelled to do, so someone else can enjoy one of the best cars ever made.
