Another Automotive Journalist Sold on the 2CV

George Dyke lent his late model 2CV to Canadian automotive journalist Clayton Seams to road test.

In his profession Clayton gets behind the wheel of virtually every modern car and 100’s of classic cars. His opinion of the 2CV?

The 2CV was a car so far ahead of it’s a time that it managed to outlive most of its competitors. And the reason they sold so many for such a long time is the inherent brilliance of the 2CV. It’s a masterclass in a car for the masses. That’s why I think this car is such an enduring classic — a the touchstone classic.

To understand classic cars, you have to try one of these you have to try it because this about as minimal motoring gets. You just have two cylinders, one carburetor, no roof and 4 gears. It doesn’t get much simpler than that. And sometimes the simple joys are the best.
