In Memoriam — Bruce Elsegood — Oct. 31 1945 – July 30, 2026

We are saddened to announce the passing of Bruce Elsegood, peacefully in his sleep, on July 30, 2026.

Bruce was one one of the original participants in the Citroenvie Zoom meetings that we initiated during the Covid lockdown.  His knowledge of Citroëns as past president of Citroën Car Club New South Wales and sharing how folks ‘down under’ work on them was most enlightening. 

Every month he would email Zoom meeting organizer George Dyke to tell him whether or not he could attend. (No mean feat as in Sydney, Australia he was 14 hours ahead of Toronto, Canada time).

In the past couple of years medical appointments prevented him from making a few meetings, but he always tried his best.  Six months ago he called in to join Zoom from his hospital bed and was interrupted by a nurse that came into the room to give him his sponge bath.  Everyone on Zoom got a chuckle out of that as he prioritized the Citroën conversation until the nurse insisted that she was in charge and ended the call!  

Family and friends gathered on Thursday, August 6 at Macquarie Park Crematorium (Magnolia Chapel) in Sydney to celebrate Bruce’s life and say farewell.

Bruce will be fondly remembered by all and we presume he is now driving his favourite CX through sunny climates and endless roads (without engine trouble).
