To close out the 2026 driving season, Citroën Autoclub Canada ventured to Uxbridge Ontario and then on to Newmarket on October 17. The temperature was cool and the sky sunny all day, making it perfect weather to enjoy the country back-road route that George Dyke had mapped out to take in the marvelous fall colours.

Along with George and Marijke Dyke, participants in the fall drive were; Tony Burgess and Josephine O’Brien, Senen Racki, Les Krawczyk, Irena and Robert Zmyslowski, Eric Haugen and his friend Mik, Sietse Elsinga, George Klein and Douglas Ogle.

Starting in Richmond Hill just north of Toronto, the group of 3 SMs, 2 DS, a CX, a 2CV and an Ami 6 Break, departed at 11 am and stopped for a break an hour later in the town of Goodwood at Goodwood Mercantile, a quaint little shop showcasing products from area artisans.

Goodwood also happens one of the main locations used for the TV series Shitts Creek. Club member Doug Ogle met us there with his 2CV having come all the way from Brighton.

After taking more back-roads for about 45 minutes just south and east of Uxbridge, everyone headed downtown to The Fig Kitchen, renowned for their great food and attentive service, where George had reserved a table for lunch.

Not wanting to make day too long with a lot of driving, the drive back from Uxbridge offered more fall foliage and rural scenery taking a short route around Musslemans Lake then north west toward Newmarket where those who wanted to cap off the day parked and walked about the lovely historic downtown area.

And with that done, we all look forward to CAC outings next year that are just as nice!
