On December 6, 2025, Citroën Autoclub Canada held their annual Christmas party returning to The Mandarin Restaurant to enjoy their extensive lunch buffet selection. Meeting at 11:30 am, and after remarks from CAC president George Dyke, then a photo op, the group had descended on the buffet featuring over 100 dishes that provide something for everyone, from classic Asian cuisines to contemporary dishes.

George Dyke introduced the officers elected at the Club’s planning meeting in November, and announced the events that CAC has planned for 2026. They include:

  • Our annual Spring Outing, this time to the Caledon Hills area on May 24.
  • A tour of the Niagara wine region on July 18
  • A 10-day outing to the Maritimes commencing on either Sept. 8 or Sept. 22.
  • Our CAC Fall Outing where we will once again head toward Uxbridge and take a leisurely drive in the area.
  • And of course, our Christmas Party on Saturday Dec. 5.

There was a selection of Citroën related books, signs and models for members to take home as door prizes.

George also took the opportunity to introduce and hand out to Premium Members the just completed 2026 Citroënvie printed calendars.

Citroën Autoclub Canada’s 2025 Golden Sphere “Philippe” Award was presented to Jeff Teerlinck for his effort in bringing his 1972 SM back to perfection. A 5-speed, fuel injection model, it was imported from Europe years ago to Miami FL, and then driven to Montreal. Jeff bought it in Montreal in 2010 with 96,653 kms on it and brought it to Toronto. The interior remained in excellent original condition and the body was rust-free with minor damage to driver’s door and right rear quarter panel. Jeff removed the engine and sent it to David Hume in Kentucky for a full rebuild. When Jeff picked up the engine, he considered selling the SM for a while as it was at a stage where it was mechanically sound and ready to be put back together to be a show-class example, but he had too many other projects on the go. Eventually he made the effort to persevere. The SM was stripped and given a gorgeous repaint, a new windshield installed to deal with a slight wiper scratch and a new set of Michelin XWX tires fitted to aluminium copies of the original “Roue Resin” wheel rim for the SM. It was all put back together this year to be an outstanding specimen, and for that we offer our congratulations to Jeff on a well deserved win!

George also announced the winner of the 2025 Dave Kane “all it needs is a clutch” Award. It was presented to Mony Sora for his rescue of former Citroën Autoclub Canada president Glen Fryer’s 1969 DS21 after sitting for 30+ years in a condo garage in Etobicioke. With the help of Bernard Laborde, Mony was able fit it securely on his car trailer and transport it to his garage near Beaverton Ontario.
