Citroën SM featured in Film About Anthony Bourdain

The final two shots of the trailer for the new film Roadrunner, about the late US celebrity chef, best-selling author, and television personality Anthony Bourdain, feature a Citroën SM. It looks to be an automatic and judging by the back license plate, somewhere in France or Italy.

The trailer shows the SM and Bourdain seated with his close friend, French chef Eric Ripert.

It was Ripert who found Bourdain dead of an apparent suicide by hanging, at age 61, in his room at a luxury hotel in Kaysersberg France, on June 8, 2018.

When the news emerged that Bourdain had passed away, it caused a spread of shock around the culinary world. At the time of his death, both he and Ripert were filming an upcoming episode of Bourdain’s award-winning TV show, Parts Unknown in Strasbourg.

With the Citroën SM being a part of Bourdain’s final hours, we hope it wasn’t it’s up-keep that was a factor in Bordain killing himself!
