The upcoming Barrett-Jackson collector car sale in Scottsdale, Arizona will offer 1,800 cars with no reserve price, a figure the company claims is the largest on record for a single auction.
Bonhams will also be auctioning cars in Scottsdale and one of them will be an authentic Henri Chapron designed and built 1964 DS 19 Décapotable. It will be offered on January 17, at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa.
The listing describes the DS Cabrio as being thoroughly restored both mechanically and cosmetically. The bodywork has been fully refinished in a lovely dark blue hue, which very elegantly sets off the chrome trim and brightwork. Inside, the cabin has been fully retrimmed in beige leather hides and matching brown luxurious carpets.
The engine has been upgraded to a more modern Citroën unit, fitted with electronic fuel injection and there may well be a bit more power because the engine bay photo shows a turbocharger installed! An original type engine is also offered with the sale.
The engine bay is so packed with the power modifications that the battery has been relocated in the trunk.
It is expected to fetch between $150,00 and $200,000 US. To see the full auction listing for this DS Cabrio click here.

If only I didn’t have all the projects around me, I think that I could have bought this one, I had read about the Turbocharged DS, this one is even better as it has the intakes like that of a fuel injection.
I bet you that the engine compression ratio is around 7:1
